Following is your itinerary and important information that you will need to know before starting your vacation.

Arrival

You will be staying at the picturesque Chinook Lodge. Upon arrival, you will be greeted with old-fashioned hospitality and an impressive spread that will satisfy any appetite. After a tour of the grounds and explanation of safety, you will prepare for four and half days of breathtaking adventure.

Every morning, you will start your day with a “made-to-order” breakfast around 7:00 am. You will join the captain for a day of fishing beginning at 8:00 am. Before leaving, you and your companions will have a few options for fishing.

Depending on the group’s objectives, seasonal fishing, and weather conditions, you can choose from a variety of activities. From fishing salmon to chum or perhaps halibut or rockfish, you will agree together, along with the recommendation from the Captain, what type of fish you will be bringing home at the end of the day. If you prefer fly fishing, our staff will make arrangements for you to spend the day on the river; however, you will need to bring your own gear and equipment.

In case of bad weather or for special requests, we will make the following arrangements for you:

• Remote fishing: We can help you charter a flight to almost any out-of-the-way location.

• Spin cast: We will provide the equipment.

• Whale Show

• Glacier Bay site-seeing cruise or flight

• Hiking

• Local café and bar

• …or just relaxing and enjoying beautiful Alaskan surrounding

With a sack lunch in tow, you will spend the entire day fishing. Early evening (around 5-6pm) will find you back at the lodge to clean up .Once the stories of the day have been exchanged, and the fisherman responsible for the “Catch of the Day” has been seated at the head of the table, you will enjoy a home-cooked meal that will rival any upscale restaurant.

Departure

Your final day of fishing will be a half day. After eating lunch and packing, you will head for the airport in Juneau. Please make arrangements beforehand to spend the night in Juneau, awaiting your departure flight the next day. Once there, you can either take your 50 pounds of frozen fish to the airport to be checked-in and stored in a freezer, or you can take your 50 pounds of fish to the hotel, where you will also be able to store your meat in a freezer. (We are recommending Juneau Best Western Country Lane Inn 2358 Mendenhall Loop Rd, Juneau, AK 99801, (907) 789-5005).

“An unbelievable experience…the most exciting fishing adventure of my life. The Lodge was very comfortable and we enjoyed your staff with their home-made approach to making us happy. Fishing with captain John was beyond our expectations! I was amazed with his fishing knowledge and the great stories he shared with us. I learned a lot about Alaska and salmon and halibut fishing. Whales were always around us! It was worth the travel from Prague.

Thank you Great Chinook and Captain John. My fishing pictures and your stories are all over Prague now! I'll be back!”
