SALMON FISHING

There are five species of Pacific Salmon, Chinook, Coho, Sockeye, Chum and Pinks comprising one of the most valuable fishery resources of the United States. We primarily target Chinook and Coho Salmon with incidental opportunities for other species. Our primary technique of harvesting Salmon is trolling, typically dragging 2 to 4 lines 75’ to 150’ below the surface. In the early season all Salmon efforts are concentrated on the coast. Deer Harbor holds and ample supply of feeder Kings. Surge Bay, Hochtaheen, Soapstone and Cross Sound are names you will never forget after fishing with us. Additional tactics utilized are “Darting” or “Mooching”. This is a very effective and a fun way of harvesting your fish when large numbers of Coho Salmon are bubbling near the surface, usually in July and August when the Cohos are migrating toward their annual spawning rivers.
